Powell Family Tape (1967)
The Powells moved from Brentwood, New York to League City, Texas in the summer of 1967 so Roger could work at the Johnson Space Center. The family corresponded regularly with Herman, including this reel-to-reel tape recorded in December of that year for Herman's 81st birthday (January 2, 1968). The tape features Roger and Avanelle and children David (age 11), Lynne (age 10), Teresa (age 6), and Ruthie (age 5).
