Subject: Lynne's surgery successful
Friends & Family,
Lynne's neck fusion surgery was successful. She was moved back to the same room she was in before, but without the traction. She was in a lot of pain when I was kicked out of the room at 9:15 by an old-time hardcore nurse. (Reminded me of my mother during her LVN days.) But Ava, my mother in-law, was allowed to stay in the family waiting room and check on her.
I will not go into too many details at this time, but there was no blood loss, the titanium mesh cage was used, with her own bone material from her vertebrae, to fill around the cage. The surgical procedure is called a trough corpectomy with anterior strut. I am heading back to the hospital as soon as I close this out.
We are all well, and for both Lynne, Eric, Aaron and me, I will say "thank you" for your prayers and thoughts so far. We are now on the other side of this, and can now move forward again!
Thanks again,
Russell (Russ)
