Subject: Celebrating Life
Ten years ago about this time, an urgent prayer request went out. The fireplace in our home had fallen after I had stepped up on the hearth to light a candle on the mantle. Initially paralyzed from the neck down, I spent the next 2 months in the hospital, having surgery, and going through rehab. Today I walk with a cane – but I can walk with just a cane, when the initial diagnosis was that I would never walk again!! I have learned that God knows what He is doing. He has a plan for my life and yours – good, bad, and otherwise, it is all part of His plan. He is faithful throughout, after all, it is His plan.
I have had opportunities to pass on the comfort I received from God through many of you to others in need, to tell of God’s mercy and grace, and that He is indeed able to do more than we ask or can even imagine. Our marriage is stronger now than before, and life is sweeter, trying not to take things or people for granted.
Today is a day for remembering – and moving on. God sent His son for me, the promise fulfilled. If not for anyone else, He would have still done it for me – Amazing Love, how can it be? I was baptized on Christmas Eve when I was 10, and God gave me new life again 10 years ago. My prayer is that I will live for Him, without excuse and on purpose.
Merry Christmas to all of you, and may you celebrate the Light of His son, and enjoy the love of your families. During the past 10 years, many of you have endured your own crisis and loss. My thoughts and prayers are with you as well.
Blessings and love to you,
Lynne
