Subject: Lynne's Handwriting Primer & Update
Family & Friends,
The attachment below is a "sampler" of handwriting that Lynne was working on yesterday. They get some pipe insulation to make a pencil, pen or marker easier for the patient to grasp, put in their hand, and off they go! When Lynne was a little girl, they moved from Texas to New York, because her family and others were involved in a plan to plant a church on Long Island. Lynne skipped a grade, & I can't remember which one, but anyway, she learned to write cursive over the summer. She & her mom used those workbooks similar to the ones that we all used to make the switch from printing to cursive. The papers she was using yesterday were similar to those workbooks.
I look at her handwriting, and I can tell immediately that is hers. There are still some very distinguishing characteristics that make it her own. This page that I am sending you is the last one in the stack. It means the most to me, because I recall when we were dating, and after we became engaged to be married, we were separated by 115 miles. We wrote and sent each other cards just about every day. Our love for each other developed by writing. So when I read the last part, "Russell- I love you!" it was better than any card or letter could be.
I just got off the phone with the social worker at Reeves. Her surgery will be scheduled for February 9th. As far as what time of day, that has yet to be determined.
There is still quite a bit of work to be done here at the house, so I ask for your prayers for continued endurance, to get everything done.
Thanks,
Russell
