Hello everyone,
I must share the latest "Lynne Accomplishment":
This afternoon we were out running our Saturday errands, when I pulled in to the Madison High School parking lot. Lynne and I switched places in the car, me as passenger, she as driver. She got in the seat, I showed her where to adjust the seat, mirrors, etc. She then proceeded to drive around some in the parking lot. I was wanting her to get a feel of how our car responded to the gas, brake and steering. She was doing great, so I asked her, "Where do you want to go?" She said "I think I can drive home." So she drove home!
After we got home, I honked the car horn so our boys would come outside. It took a minute for Aaron to realize that his Mom was behind the wheel. Eric did a very dramatic swoon.
We sat in the driveway for a few minutes, then she drove the two of us to Wal-Mart. Of course we went the back way so there was less traffic.
This is her first time behind the wheel of any car since December 23, 1999, the day before her life was changed by our fireplace collapse. I am very glad that she (and I) took this step out in faith and trust, both in each other, and in our God. He has shown us more of His grace and mercy over the past year and a half that I ever thought possible. But then again, when I am at a point of weakness, I hear, "My grace is sufficient, even for you!"
Anyway, this news was just too good NOT to share!
