I had a WONDERFUL talk with Lynne tonight. She is settling in and is going to try to be ready for 6:30 wake up call. At 7:00 is breakfast, then rehab until lunch, then a break until 1:00, then more therapy from 1-4 or so.
She said that her room is really nice. It has a dry erase board with her daily schedule, a cork board for her cards, a big window for her plants, and a vanity complete for handicap usage.
She said that she will be fitted for a wheelchair, and then they will expect her to go eat breakfast with the other patients.
She also said that she has a lot more movement in her legs. Her left hand is stronger than her right.
She had gotten some large get well cards. One signed by everyone in her office, and one signed by everyone in the field. (from work)
She has been constantly listening to the Christian radio station. Several of her nurses have commented on her music. (Danny is the nurse on the 7th floor that put her name on the prayer vigil after listening to the Christian music in her room)
She told Dad she wanted to document her blessings. Dad bought her a book today so they can start recording them.
Yesterday had been another trying day, but Dad had been with her through most of it. She said that she has truly felt Dad's love for her.
Lynne said that when she left the 7th floor (special care unit) that the nurses got teary and told her they were already quite fond of her. They told her that they wanted her to come back to see them when she could walk again. Lynne told them she would do that.
She and Russell have also practiced saying, "thank you" when someone offers to do something for them. Lynne said, "we are practicing letting people be Jesus to us". Today Darren & Kay Kip (from Sunset Ridge) picked the boys up from school, took them to their house and fed them, took them to bible class at church, and were going to bring them home after church. Russell had written a letter to their church family thanking them for all that they have done, and allowing God's love to be seen through them.
Lynne said she still hasn't gotten to listen to Dennis Jernigen closely, but she is SURE there is a message there she is suppose to hear. On her Christian radio station, KLOVE, the power scripture for today was, "The Lord is my refuge and strength....."
She said she heard a song about the Footprints of God that really touched her heart.
She said, " Teresa, God's bringing it all together!" Praise God for His love and grace.
I love you, David-
