Here is the latest on Lynne:
The biggest and best news is that on Tuesday, with the help of her therapists, Lynne stood up on her feet since she fell Christmas Eve! She called home that afternoon after finishing up for rhe day, she was in tears when she told me, and Roger and I were both in tears after she told us!
She now has a new weight-bearing cast on her right ankle, with a non-skid bootie that goes on over the cast for traction. She is also wearing a special boot on her left foot, plus a splint on her right wrist and hand to hold both the hand, wrist and foot in a more natural position. When a person is experiencing paralysis, even temporary, a big concern is drop foot, and hands drawing up into a fist. both devices are designed to help hold what she has gained.
Her bulletin board for cards is almost filled up. Her window sills are covered up with plants and flowers. Your outpouring of love and support has been amazing. Thanks.
She was up in her chair earlier yesterday, when she started to experience some light-headness. Her blood pressure was okay, as was her blood sugar. We have been wondering if some of the different medications for pain and musle relaxants are causing her thyroid to go out of balance. Lynne has been taking thyroid medicine for several years, so the Dr. is going to order some blood work to see if her thyroid medicine needs to be changed (up or down.) She was also holding back on her fluid intake, because what she was "voiding" was more than her intake. The nurses have to catheter her every time she has to "go" because she has to learn to control those muscles that make her "go". Sorry to get so personal.
Every time I see her, I see improvement, no matter how small. I thank God for each and every one.
My father -in-law, Roger has been here since December 30, and has helped out tremendously. He has been helping me get repairs lined up, getting the living room ready for paint, and been nursing Lynne on the side, too.
I started back to school last Monday, Jan. 3, and finished up my Novell Netware 4.11 Administrator Module his past Saturday. Windows NT 4.0 Server Administration is what we started this past Monday Night. I could use some prayers for endurance to help me get through all the things I have to do throughout the day.
We have a member of our church, Kay Kipp, who is picking up Aaron & Eric from school on Wednesdays after they finish chess club at 5:30. They forgot their keys & money to eat, so I ran it by the school yesterday afternoon. One of the teachers was in the room, saw me, introduced himself, and told me that he does not have any boys, but if he did, he would want them to be like Eric and Aaron. Kinda makes a dad feel good hearing things like that.
I need to get to bed.....I hope this finds all of you well. Keep those prayers coming.

As I was walking out the door last night, Lynne called me! A high-tech friend of hers rigged her up with a voice-activiated phone. She said, "Call David", and it did!
Praise God for his love and grace!
